Tinsel Review - Peep into Fashion

Wei Ni from Peep Boutique is back with another review, this time for our unflavoured glitter balm, Tinsel!

"As you can see from the photos, the lip balm is exactly like all of My Lip Stuff’s balm. It comes uncoloured & slightly transparent. The only difference between these and the other balms are the added glitter & the fact that it’s unscented & unflavoured. While you may have a light whiff of natural scent from all the natural ingredients in the balm, it goes off pretty quickly & if you lick your lips you’ll probably be able to taste a light natural flavour which we think comes from all the natural oils.

The glitters on the balms are very faint & hardly noticeable at all. For some reason, we find that the glitters which are in beautiful shades of blue & green comes off better on our skin than on our lips. When we put it on our lips, the hint of glitter is very slight but because the balm already has a glossy sheen to it, the glitters help add a very natural shimmer to your lips. Definitely a shimmer that is subtle enough to be worn to work/school.

We love how this balm doesn’t sacrifice moisture just for a little hint of glitter. So opt to wear this lip balm alone, or over your usual lipstick for an added kick of moisture to your lips along with a subtle hint of pretty glitter.

Because we do find that the glitter comes out better on skin, you can probably dab a little on it on your cheekbones to give it a slight shimmery glow. The glossy sheen of the balm will also give a slight dewiness to your cheeks as well, making you look instantly fresh & alive."

Limited Edition Holiday Balm Reviews: Peep into Fashion

Our good friend Wei Ni from Peep Boutique is back with more reviews, this time of the limited edition balms!

"Mint Chip Cheesecake:
I must say that I love this balm! I love how it’s got a distinct delicious cheesecake flavour to it that’s incredibly rich and creamy, topped with a very mild chocolate scent coupled with a wonderful minty scent that leaves a tingly sensation on your lips. It’s so good you wonder why you can’t just take a bite out of it! Great for people who love mint & cheesecakes!

Eggnog Ice Cream:
Having never really had eggnog before, -save the time where me & my BFF attempted to make our very own eggnog- I really did not quite know what to expect from this lip balm. Taking a whiff from the balm, it’s got a nice cinnamon scent that’s slightly coffee-ish, and an overall creamy flavour. It’s sweet with a mild vanilla flavour, rich and creamy from the sweetened milk. It’s essentially a very creamy, milky lip balm. Definitely worth having if you love cream, ice cream, milk & cinnamon! :)

Festival of Lights:
As this is something I’ve never had before, I really did not know quite what to expect with this Funnel Cake lip balm flavour. I would say that it reminds me of the Vanilla version of Pink Cake. Equally yummy but not quite as cakey as Pink Cake. It’s got a wonderful vanilla flavour, with a rich powdered sugar scent & a sweet cakey scent to it as well. It basically feels like taking a bite into a fried Vanilla cake & licking all the vanilla icing sugar off it! Sinful & sweet.
It’s stevia sweetened so you can’t help but keep licking it off your lips!

Mad Scientist:
Out of the 4 balms, this has to be one of the lightest and most refreshing of the lot. It’s got a strong peppermint scent & flavour that leaves a tingle on your lips. I know the description says watermelon, but I get a more honeydew scent & flavour to it. It’s incredibly light, feels wonderfully refreshing & fruity, while it may seem like an odd combo this really is a great pick me up lip balm! If you love mint, and you’re not too crazy about rich, creamy lip balms this would be a great one to add to your collection. :)"

Now all I need to do when I'm craving for Oreo is glide this onto my lips ! You gained no calories and it's great for diet ( Oh my god , this sounds so wrong, haha ) . Oh, it's moisturized my lips too !

"Cookies & Cream : K so this one basically smells like Oreo. Sometimes, I smell chocolate cookies and vanilla. Same thing.

Margarita : Never tasted the drink, but this is salty. Can’t really smell the vodka tho. This is the one which is familiar, but idk how to describe it. Lololol.

Monkey Farts : This is the strongest scented one I think. My package smelt like this when it came (Ofc I opened every tube to sniff them to figure it out. Lol) So this has strong bubblegum scents. With all the mixtures of other scents they used. So its not really overwhelming but still so good. :D

Nighttime : Was quite skeptical with this one cuz of the Aromatherapy thing. Nothing ever works. Lolol. So the smell is like, slight orange with rose and lavender blended? Will need some time to get use to the scent but its not bad at all. Idk if it put me to sleep. But since, I read the reviews, that it calms the mind, I guess I already have the mindset that it will. So it did. Haha."

After Dinner Mint Review: Ezra Mei-En Chua

One of our consolation prize winners from our balmy give away has written a review on one of her balms. We've posted up her entry photo here because it's cute, creative, and she managed to get 320 votes in 24 hours! :)

Here's her review!

"Alrighty! So I received the goodies that I've won from My Lip Stuff's "Contest #1" and the first tube that I opened was the "After Dinner Mint" :9

I have to say, it won't be everyone's cup of tea, as not everyone is a fan of mint BUT I pretty much loved it. It sort of tasted like those little mints you'd get when you'd follow your parents to the salon as a kid, and the really nice lady working there would pass you a whole handful of those mints in ol' school sweetie wrappers. I SWEAR, it tastes (or smells?) just like 'em! Using this flavor of lip balm brought back a sense of nostalgia :3 So if you enjoy those buttery mint sweets or if you're pretty much craseee for mint chocolate chip ice-cream, this flavor would be absolutely yummers!

As a first time user of My Lip Stuff's balms, I didn't really know what to expect (texture wise) and I basically smeared a good chunk of the balm all over my face -.- word of advise - apply the lip balm gently!! It gives you a really nice clear gloss over your lips as well after application, so you're basically killing two birds with one stone when you use My Lip Stuff's balms! And with "After Dinner Mint", there's a subtle hint of menthol, which I find extremely RAD, cos it leaves your lips feeling FRESH FOR SOME CRUNKIN' :p

So there's my review! I hope it helps those itching to try My Lip Stuff's balms!

Chapped no more,
Ezra Mei-En Chua :)"

Cat Pee: Ordered this out of curiosity cuz i was all who the hell applies kitty urine on their lips?! Turns out it’s just the color that maybe in some way resemble its title and it smells awesomely citrusy!

Gummy Bear: Gummy bear was my fav!!! It has this really intoxicating fruity smell that i couldn’t figured out. In the end i Iyvene sniff the lip balm and she figured it was cherry. Love love love it!"

Sex on the Beach & Rootbeer Float Review: Valerie

Our customer, Valerie, submitted a review via email! :) We've decided to give it a post rather than add it to each individual flavour review:

"
Guess what daddy brought into my room this Wesak Morning? He brought a package for me. My Lip Stuff Lip Balms finally arrived. This time, I ordered Sex On The Beach and Berry Berry. Previously, I ordered Rootbeer Float and Peaches N Cream which I gave to mummy. She loves it and even commented that it's better than Kiehl's Lip Balm/Lip Treatment. I on the other hand loved the Rootbeer Float scent. It smelled like Rootbeer with Vanilla Ice Cream. I even carried it along when I traveled to Thailand for the recent Thailand Rally Championship.

Sex On The Beach smells just like the drink. It's SO yummy and it makes me feel a notch sexier. =P Very good moisturizing lip balms. A very good buy. I can't wait to try Berry Berry. This lip balms should be in every girl's purse for that sexy, soft and smooth pucker.

Rainbow Sherbet, Red Velvet Cake, Upside Down Pineapple Cake Review: Dyra

Rainbow Sherbet
Red Velvet Cake
Upside Down Pineapple Cake

Rainbow Sherbet
"My sister bought this together with me when i purchased the upside down pineapple flavour. We tasted i mean tested each other's balm LOL and i would say i REGRET not purchasing this tube. It's the MOST ADDICTIVE flavour i have tried . It tastes even better then the Rainbow Sherbet from Baskin Robbins , because the BR one is quite sour < me do not like > hehe

Some reviewers say it tastes like Skittles but to me its waay better. All the fruits were blended perfectly to give the perfect concotion of the rainbow sherbet * drools*. Heavenly for this very hot weather in Malaysia

This is definitely going to be my next purchase!

Rating : 6/5 < yes its just too addictive> *winks*"

Red Velvet Cake
"
Red Velvet is one of my favourite deserts but sadly this tube i got was too sweet for my liking. It feels as if i smeared the cream cheese frosting all over my lips *two thumbs down* . This was my second tube that i bought and compared to the Upside Down Pineapple Cake flavour, i did not feel the urge to constantly apply it to my lips 24/7 =( Will try other flavours instead of repurchasing this flavour .

I am not sure if i got a bad tube that overdosed on the flavour or maybe this suits fanatical red velvet fans only =D Still, its moisturizing properties are the same as the previous tube , no worries !

Rating : 2/5"

Upside Down Pineapple Cake
"No, this is not a food review OR a receipe review. The item i'm reviewing is a lip balm! Since the tube all comes in the same design i have put up a picture to tantalize your tastebuds =P

Although i have never tasted a pineapple upside down cake, this lip balm perfectly balances the vanilla flavour with the tangy taste of pineapple. The PERFECT balm for people who cannot stand the too sweet flavour of vanilla ;) I just can't stop re-applying it the whole day especially during class as i sit directly in front of the air-con .It is the most moisturizing lipbalm i have ever used plus i finished the whole tube in a very short period.

This is my first purchase from MY LIP STUFF MALAYSIA and i would definitely purchase more =D * licks lips* especially since its stevia sweetened !

Rating 5/5 "

Pink Cake & Margarita Review: Kimberly

"Pink Cake: Yum! Lick your lips and there you get (mostly) the taste of vanilla frosting on top of a cupcake! A hint of a swirl of strawberry flavour too. The taste kinda reminds me of the rainbow sprinkles that I used to love on my ice cream as a kid. Not too sweet and overpowering either!

Rating: 4/5

Margarita: My favourite alcoholic beverage on occasions! Lime, sweet rum, tequila and salt on the rim. This lip balm has that slight salty kick that I just love, just like when I lick the salt off the rim of the glass ;) For a flavourful, tangy lip balm - I would definitely suggest this flavour!

Rating: 5/5"

"Upside Down Pineapple Cake
When Cat Pee is gone then I decided to try another one, Upside Down Pineapple Cake. Got to admit, at first it smelled weird. Maybe I loved Cat Pee so much that I wanted something that smell like it too. But Pineapple Cake got a different kinda aroma - I sensed coconut and vanilla. At first it reminds me of playdoh! Weird weird. Haha. But as I use it often, I get used to it already. It is also nice, with sweet cakey, vanilla and frosting scent. Yumm!! Recommended for cake lovers! I would usually apply this balm when I feel certain craving for cakes. ^_^

Upside Down Pineapple Cake is mixtures of pineapple, cake, vanilla and caramel, plus Stevia sweetened.

Rate: 4/5 ♥♥♥♥

Shirley Temple
After that I can't help myself and I opened the last one, Shirley Temple! Oooohh the first time I sniff it I totally love it! Haha coz it is somewhat like Cat Pee. :p I love the hints of cherry in there. Never really thought I would love cherry coz usually I don't eat them. This is on my top list so far!! I LOVE IT! Today I feel like having cherries indeed. :)

Shirley Temple is Sprite mixed with Grenadine syrup, garnished with Maraschino cherries and a slice of orange!

Rate: 5/5 ♥♥♥♥♥"

"Direct to my review pulak. Cat Pee. Although the name sounds yucky, but it is actually a blend of pink grapefruit, orange and lime. Lege sikit dengar kan? Hehe. Cool stuff. Stick dia colourless. Putih opaque macam biasa la. Tapi ada bau. The flavours tu in this case bau dia saje. Some other flavours have Stevia sweetener, jadi lip balm tu akan rase berperisa di lidah jugak. But not this Cat Pee. (who wants to lick cat pee anyway?) Haha. Lepas twist bukak seal cap dia, bau exacly macam Sprite atau 7 Up. Citrus punye bau, dan lime dia yg paling kuat. Bau2 ni buat saye mudah lapar la plak. The lip balm itself, is awesome! Moisturising, smooth gliding and glossy when applied to the lips. *shrugs* Semua lip balm macam tu ye? Betul, tapi saye personally susah jumpe lip balm yg sesuai. Setakat ni yg agak OK ngan saye: ZA, ELF dan yg ni la, MLS. So saye sangat happy dengan produk ni. Tak sabo nak bukak flavour lain pulak! Hehe!"

Blueberry Muffin and Shamrock Shake Review: Peep into Fashion

"Blueberry Muffin: If you’re a fan of blueberries, and if you’re a fan of sugar, and if you’re a fan of muffins, then this balm is definitely for you! I absolutely love the brown sugar scent, if that even makes any sense. I know that the flavour says it has cake in it, for me it the cakey-ness wasn’t there, instead it was just a nice muffin scent. I wish I could pop this into the oven, heat it up and take a bite out of it!

Shamrock Shake: Currently, this is the balm that I have been using obsessively since I opened it 2 weeks ago! I love the minty-ness of it, and for my sweet tooth, I absolutely love the vanilla ice cream in it! In fact, I am gonna go apply some now!

If you love mint, and you love vanilla ice cream and milkshake, this balm is definitely a must have for you! What could be more delicious than having the tingling sensation of mint on your lips, and the soft creamy scent of vanilla mixed with a hint of peppermint wafting up to your nose. Love."

"I bought a lipbalm online! It's a lipbalm from MyLipStuff. I read about it in CLEO magazine. I'm not the type of person who buys cosmetics online but don't know why I made an exception for this one.. And I didn't regret buying it at all!

The lipbalm is superduperfreakingawesome! Mine is in truffles flavor.
The lipbalm is amazingly superdupermoisturizing and superduperyummy!
With just one application, my lips feel very moisturized and it lasts for a very long time, unlike any other lipbalm I've tried before.
And the smell, oh gawd, is very enticing.
I had to restrain myself from eating the whole tube.
And it's smell, I don't know how to explain the smell but it smells very yummy, just like a pecan truffle cheesecake. Nyahaha.. They have tons of flavor, like hundreds of them! I'm going to buy another one, Vanilla Caramel perhaps?"

"Butt Naked
Description : Butt Naked is a refreshing mix of green apple, honeydew, & spicy pear.
__Light and refreshing, just nice for a smack on the lips in the morning!
__A nice combination of apple and melon, with a slight hint of spicy pear.
__And that suddenly reminds me of Each A Cup Bubble Tea and I don't know why!
__It works fine, but it surely couldn't win this awesome flavour below!

Cat Pee
Description: A funny name- but a yummy blend of pink grapefruit, orange, & lime.

__So I've finally got this hot-selling item of theirs - Cat Pee!
__My favourite so far, also the personal favourite out of all flavours of Cynthia! ;)
__Very delicious balm here with hints of lemon, lime and citrus!
__If you're a fan of 7up, Sprite, Kickapoo, you will totally love this to bits!
__Pretty much addicted to this one that I couldn't just stop applying it on my lips
__for that slight hint of fizzy drinks, and even accidentally lick it at times! ;)

__These lipbalms do work as a great moisturizing lip balm,
__glides on my lips well, and even gave a nice shine on my lips too!
__Definitely worth every single cent that you're paying for!"

Apple Smoothie and Peach Belini Review: Peep into Fashion

It's been awhile since Wei Ni has submitted a review, we missed her! But now she's back with a review of two other flavours! Enjoy ;)

*shortened to only flavour reviews*

Apple Smoothie
"Though the description of this balm doesn’t sound like much, but holding it in my hand, placing it against my nose and taking a quick whiff of this balm has made me wanna open it immediately! The scent is so deliciously sweet!

This balm has the perfect blend of juicy red apples, all cut up, juiced and blended with a thick, rich, creamy vanilla milk. The combination is effortless and oh-so-tasty. If you love apples and if you love smoothies, you’re sure to love this balm! In fact, I don’t know what it is about this balm but the mix of apples and vanilla milk is simply perfect together.

Just imagine a bowl full of delicious, juicy and crunchy red apples, cut up and blended with the richest and creamiest vanilla milk you can imagine. That is exactly what this balm is like, perfectly fruity and creamy! It’s so tasty it’s practically sinful!
A must have! "

Peach Belini
"To be honest, peaches are not my favourite fruit. So when Cynthia recommended this I was a tad bit skeptical. After all, I’ve never heard of Peach Belinis and I don’t like peaches.
What exactly is a Peach Belini?
It is basically a long drink cocktail that originated from Venice. It is a mixture of sparkling wine and peach puree.
The description doesn’t sound like much, but I can assure you, this balm is tasty!

When I opened up this balm and took a quick whiff, it smells delicious! The scent and flavour of peaches aren’t too strong, which is something I am glad for! It has a slight hint of bubbly champagne and with the combination of peaches this balm has a sweet peachy scent and has a slight peachy champagne taste to it.

This balm is not creamy at all like Apple Smoothie, instead it’s got a very slight citrusy flavour to it and is all nice and bubbly! Though this balm has champagne in it, I won’t say it’s your typical booze balm as the booze note is quite mild.
ChampagnePOP-7842986a00e5519367618834010534d08c97970b-800wi
I guess the closest description I can give to you on how this balm is like, is from the above picture! It pops! It’s sweet! And it’s bubbly! Added with a juicy sweet peach, this balm is another must have for your collection!"
